Here at Hawthorn East Dental we offer the highly successful SDI Poladay Whitening Kits. As we use this treatment ourselves we are able to recommend it highly. The whitening kit that we provide comes with whitening gel and custom fabricated whitening trays that fit to your teeth only. The whitening process is very easy and comfortable. Simply applying the crystal clear gel into your custom made bleaching tray and wearing it for 30 minutes a day is all it takes!

This gel is composed of 9.5% hydrogen peroxide which is very safe and effective in whitening teeth. This whitening gel also contains a unique blend of soothers, conditioners and water to reduce possible sensitivity.

For the majority of patients whitening your teeth will incur no side effects. However, some patients will experience temporary sensitivity that will subside after several hours of treatment. However, this can be controlled by simply altering the frequency of whitening treatments. (Eg. Skipping a day between treatments.)

This is just one of the reasons that we offer the ‘take-home’ Whitening kits as opposed to ‘in- chair’ treatments. Side effects such as sensitivity can be easily managed during the ‘take home’ treatment as it whitens your teeth gradually over multiple days of use. Another benefit of the ‘take home’ kit is the result. As this is a gradual process the result can be monitored easily by yourself. Once you have reached your desired shade you can simply stop treatment and top up every now and then with your left over treatment gel. This treatment also creates a better result compared to the ‘in chair’ whitening when used for the optimal time of two weeks.

For the best result possible it is strongly recommended that a professional scale and clean is done before whitening treatment commences.

Visit Two

Custom trays are back from the local dental lab and are ready to be tried in. The dentist will go through instructions for the treatment and show you how to apply the gel, answering any questions you may have.
